Google Chrome’s AI feature lets you quickly check website trustworthiness
Google Chrome's upcoming feature uses AI to provide a summary of reviews from independent websites about the store or website you're visiting.
As noticed by Leo on X, Google Chrome is introducing a new AI-powered feature called "Store reviews."
This feature provides a quick summary of reviews from trusted independent review platforms like Trust Pilot, ScamAdvisor, and others.
The summary is shown in the "page info bubble," which appears when you click on the lock icon or the "i" icon in the address bar (next to the website URL).
For example, when visiting a site like "x.com," clicking on the lock icon brings up an information panel with various details about the site.
In this panel, there's a section labeled "Store reviews." If you click it, you'll see a brief AI-generated summary of the website's reputation based on reviews from multiple sources.
This can help you quickly understand credibility and trustworthiness of the site without needing to visit multiple review websites.
AI-powered website/store reviews feature isn't the only AI tool coming to Chrome.
As BleepingComputer recently reported, Chrome's enhanced protection will also use AI to provide real-time protection against dangerous sites, downloads, and extensions.
Previously, it was referred to as proactive protection, but it has now been changed to AI-powered protection.
Google is likely working on several AI features for Chrome, and we'll learn more about them in the coming months.
